A History of Tea – Learn About Tea History
It can be hot or cold, black or green, herbal or lemon; yes, what we are talking about is tea. Tea is the most popular beverage worldwide. The discovery of tea was made in 2700 by the Chinese scientist, also a scientist, Shen Nung. In Indian and Japanese legend, tea was discovered by a Buddhist missionary monk Daruma. Shen Nung discovered tea when some leaves from the garden fell into a pot of boiling water, cutting off the eyelids, as Daruma was believed to be disappointed as she could not complete her nine-year meditation, and was thrown into the origin of the tea plant. It was the first monkeys trained to collect tea leaves.
